Katya has over 20 years experience in Oriental medicine. She worked as a shiatsu practitioner in New York City and Portland before earning her degree in Acupuncture and herbal medicine in 1997. She has completed post graduate studies in Japanese acupuncture and is trained in a specialized non-insertive needling technique, Toyohari, that is subtle and powerful, not only relieving pressing symptoms but also addressing constitutional energetic imbalances.

With her backround in Shiatsu, Katya’s treatments are touch oriented and hands on, using multiple levels of diagnosis and feedback to determine the most effective way to work with the unique characteristics of each person. Japanese acupuncture is very gentle and with her additional training in Toyohari style, Katya is especially suited to working with needles sensitive people, children and people who want to work to build a core level of harmony and wellbeing.
