Eliza Hofkosh-Hulbert, LMT

I graduated from East West College of Healing Arts, here in Portland, and
began practicing as a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2006. My approach to
massage therapy balances deep and gentle work, drawing both on intuition
and a strong knowledge of physiology. It is informed by my passion for
biological science, my own practices of yoga, meditation, and herbalism,
and my B.A. in cultural and medical anthropology. It is my understanding
that pain, discomfort, and imbalance arise from a body's response to life
experiences. Whether that means the daily stress of sitting at a desk or
the impact of a serious event, healing is ongoing and unique for each
person. Because healing can be a delicate and personal process, I work to
communicate openly and make each bodywork session a safe space for clients
to be themselves.

I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities in each session, according
to the needs and requests of each person seeking treatment. I employ
techniques from Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Postural Analysis, Shiatsu,
Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Therapy, Acupressure, Reflexology,
CranioSacral Therapy, and Polarity Therapy. I am also initiated in Usui
Reiki, a gentle method of hands-on energy healing, and I offer full Reiki
sessions for profound relaxation or relief from specific complaints. I am
always happy to answer questions about any of these techniques before,
during, or after an appointment.

I offer massage therapy and energy work to address specific injuries and
painful areas, as well as for relaxation and overall balancing. I have particular
experience working with rotator-cuff and shoulder injuries, neck injuries
and breathing restriction, TMJ and jaw complaints, and other structural
misalignment. I have the skills to work with a diverse body of clients,
including trauma survivors and people suffering from PTSD, people with
eating and body image concerns, and people with chronic conditions such as
fibromyalgia. I am also familiar with some of the concerns and
complications associated with sex transitioning, and welcome clients of
all genders.

If you have any questions about your condition, potential treatment plans, or what to expect from a bodywork session, feel free to call HealthQuest or email me directly: elizaLMT@gmail.com.
